Educational EFT - your experience

EFT School workshops have become very popular at KS1 and KS2.

The challenge for school staff to provide tools and learning to enhance pupil's emotional health and wellbeing can be met by introducing the EFT into your school.
Using EFT helps to bridge the gap

Through regular or bespoke workshops and even after school workshops with parents, your school can very actively enhance the social and emotional wellbeing of any child, irrespective of age, intellect, interests or issue.

Additionally, EFT World takes referral from year heads/headteachers for 1:1 sessions with individuals who would benefit from closer attention. Sessions can be held on school premises or from the practice office.
EFT World is based in South Bucks, but we also hold a register of nationwide Advanced EFT Practitioners who can be recommended as EFT specialists with Children and Young People Issues.

From a Primary school Headteacher

Taken from a letter by a local primary school headteacher regarding a pupil who had been suffering with severe lack of confidence and self esteem. The boy had taken part in two EFT sessions.

"I have never seen such a sudden and dramatic change in a pupil’s confidence in all my years of teaching. His attitude to learning, participation in activities and willingness to engage with other pupils has improved beyond everyone’s expectations.

After the first session, he returned to school with a completely different attitude and outlook. Seven months on, and he has changed beyond belief. I have spoken to his parents and his class teacher at several points and they all say that it you all down to your work with him. The story is the same for several other referred pupils that you have worked with. I would like to book the EFT for Teachers and Parents workshop when it is convenient for you so that we can all benefit please."

It is vital that students, even from a young age, grow up with a knowledge of EFT so they are empowered with
emotional resilence
With far-reaching effects on our society...

With that in mind we have established a cost effective program to bring EFT into schools with the minimum of disruption to the teaching day. If any teacher or educationalist reading this is interested in finding out more please drop us a line through the contact page.

In the Education System:
My work in education is at the Universal , Targeted and Specific level.
Workshops are run regularly on site for individual year groups, teachers and special needs groups.
I work individually with students who are referred by the schools, many, are those who are close to permanent exclusion.

I also work with teachers, support assistants, parents, and caring professionals. On a 1:1’s including evening telephone sessions, INSETS, weekend workshops, after school twilight sessions.
Please get in touch to discuss/request school staff workshop information sheet.

I'm able to work with each student for ‘as long as it takes’ in weekly/two weekly face to face sessions. Sometimes, just one session is required; other times more regular work is essential.

Often with good progress in the 1:1’s, I team up 2-3 student/friends who are then able to support each other and share which of the techniques and attitudes have been helpful for them. The length and frequency of the sessions varies depending on what is going on for each student; i.e. with their personal life, their progress/otherwise, their attendance in school and their school activities, exams, etc. Occasionally its appropriate for them to break from sessions for half a term or so, see how they are ‘solo’ and resume if appropriate.

Sessions are strictly confidential, and brief termly, or half-termly reports are available for each student for information of the school.
I also liaise where necessary with Multi agency contacts:
social services, educational psychologists, leaning support practitioners, CAHMS Children and Adolescent Mental Health Services, extended school agencies, SEAL advisors and other appropriate agencies.

Sessions emphasis process rather that content – and so this makes for a safe working relationship for the student. They are however made aware from the outset that if anything in the sessions raises concern for their emotional, mental, physical, or sexual welfare – of course the nominated child protection officer will be informed/process will be followed.

Parental written permission is obtained – and the student also signs for their permission and understanding regarding confidentiality. A huge benefit for me working in the school – is that I remain a visitor, and out of ‘the system’. I do not, - and cannot, for example be involved in discipline. I am there for the student’s welfare.

This does not preclude me, however from speaking with teachers – which I do often, to check out from their perspective progress/otherwise. Ongoing dialogue with teachers is essential, to encourage recognition all round of positive indicators, and to share ‘what works’ for each student. I am able to get up to date with what’s been good/bad – from all perspectives, for each student in-between sessions. The hope also is that the student is made to feel more accountable, and will make better use of the weekly sessions, to gather more tools to aid them during the week.
